The Miners’ Hymns

Streaming now through July 7th

«An ode to the cultural landscape of County Durham in Northeast England, The Miners’ Hymns relates a poignant tale of regional identity and an industrial past. The accompanying musical score—written and arranged by Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson—was recorded in Durham cathedral. Conceived and edited by the American director Bill Morrison, the film was crafted from archival footage in the collection of the British Film Institute. (2011, 52 minutes)»
