PROMESSA POR CUMPRIR? Em artigo intitulado "Capturing the Value of Supply Chain Management", a strategy+business faz referência a estudo desenvolvido pela Booz Allen Hamilton que conclui: "Supply Chain Management, once deemed a promising new way for companies to manage operations, has failed to achieve its promise, according to a new survey of large companies worldwide by Booz Allen Hamilton. Although companies spend more than $19 billion annually on information technology systems to improve their supply chain performance, nearly half of the companies in this survey (among them the world's largest IT spenders) said they were disappointed with the results. The keys to success, the global management consulting firm's survey suggests, include more direct CEO participation in supply chain management, smarter use of technology, and bold change initiatives."
